CodeBook Desk Market Intelligence

Market Intelligence & Strategy

Most businesses don't need more content.

They need better intelligence about what is worth saying.

CodeBook Desk researches your customers, your competitors and your local market, works out what is actually worth saying, and writes it for you.

You handle posting. We handle figuring out what to say, why it matters, and writing it.

Most content services begin with

“What should we post this week?”

CodeBook Desk begins with

“What is the market telling us?”

Who it is for

Independent service businesses. Med spas first, in Southwest Florida.

A field note, start to finish

Every finding takes the same shape: what we observed, what we read into it, why it matters, and what to say. Below is one from our own research, with the business anonymized.

Field Note Anonymized finding from actual CodeBook Desk research

Signal

In this business's reviews, customers kept returning to the same subject: one clinician. Her judgment. Her explanations. Results that looked natural. The absence of pressure. Relationships that lasted.

Reading

The homepage led with something else: treatments, products, brands and devices. What customers talked about most was not what the business led with.

So what

Customers were describing a trusted person and her judgment. The marketing was describing a catalog: the same treatment menu available elsewhere. That gap is where the opportunity sat.

What to say

Make the clinician and her judgment central to the content, instead of competing mainly on the treatment menu. The themes come straight from what reviewers already credit her for: her judgment, her explanations, natural-looking results, and the lack of pressure.

Source Customer reviews; the business's own homepage.

How the desk works

Research before content. Judgment before publishing.

01

Collect

Reviews, your website, competitor sites and offers, public social content, listings, local search demand. Public sources, gathered systematically and noted so they can be traced.

02

Read

Separate signal from noise. What customers repeat, what competitors emphasize and overlook, and where your own messaging differs from what customers say.

03

Decide

Identify the positions and themes worth owning, with the reasoning attached so you can see it and disagree with it.

04

Write

A content plan and finished copy built from the findings. You review, approve and post.

05

Review

Important factual claims are checked and, where relevant, reviewed for compliance concerns. Details only you can confirm are flagged rather than invented. A person reads every deliverable before it reaches you.

The Brief

The brief is the intelligence at the center of the service: what we found, what it means for your business, and what is worth saying about it.

Content recommendations and finished copy are built from it and delivered around it, so the reasoning and the writing stay together. Each brief cites its sources, so nothing has to be taken on faith.

Research-backed. Human-reviewed.

Questions

Do you post the content for us?

No. You keep control of the account and the final say. We handle the research, strategy and writing behind it. That is deliberate: your accounts, your approval and your public voice stay with you.

Is this SEO?

Partly. Search demand is one of the signals we read, where it is relevant. But the work is about positioning: what to say and why, not how to rank for a keyword.

Where does the research come from?

Public sources: customer reviews, your website and your competitors' websites, published offers, public social content, business listings and local search demand. Every finding in the brief carries its source, so you can check the reasoning yourself. Unless you choose to share something with us, we work only from what anyone could observe.

We already work with a marketing agency.

That can work well. The brief gives an agency, or your own team, something specific to build from: what customers value, what competitors overlook, and what is worth saying. We don't manage accounts, buy ads or schedule posts.

Do you only work with med spas?

Med spas are where we are starting, in Southwest Florida. The method applies to independent professional and service businesses more broadly, such as dermatology and plastic surgery practices, dentists, salons, law firms and real estate. We expect to open to those over time.

What do you need from us to start?

For a sample brief, your business name and city are enough. To start as a client, we will also want to know your services and any competitors you watch. We find the rest ourselves.

Request a sample brief

Tell us your market. We'll send a brief built for it.

Send your business name and city. If there are competitors you keep an eye on, add them. You will get a sample brief researched for your own market, not a template. Every request is reviewed personally. No charge, and no call required to see one.
